About the Band

Combining the musical genres of country, classic rock and roll, jazz and the blues with their unique blend of harmonic vocals and instrumentals, Just for Kicks takes the sounds of a road trip down Historic Route 66 and brings them straight to audiences all over Southern California.

Having originated in 1998 when five neighbors came together to share their mutual love for music of all kinds, the band strives on playing for audiences and crowds who love to participate by singing and dancing right along with the music.

Whether performing at events for Elks lodges throughout Los Angeles, Orange County or the Inland Empire, weddings and anniversaries, neighborhood block parties or any other occasion, it's all about building community and having fun... Just for Kicks!

Dale Shroyer
Vocals / Rhythm Guitar

The rich, soulful quality in Dale’s voice brings the true country sound to Just for Kicks. With a love of country music that was instilled in him as a child, his voice can be compared to the best in Nashville and throughout the entire country industry. His vocal abilities bring pure energy and emotion to every song, whether it’s a more upbeat bluegrass tune or one of his heartfelt love ballads.

Melinda Dacuycuy
Vocals / Keyboard

Coming from a family of musicians and entertainers, it's making music of any kind and sharing that joy with others that is Melinda's true passion. She works as a Music and Movement Specialist who has fostered he love of music to children of all ages in school districts throughout Orange County for close to 20 years.

Pros Grimes
Drums

Pros has played with a number of bands throughout his musical career, which has spanned more than four decades. A good ol' country boy in mind, body, heart and soul, his love for country music is hard and true. He is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a retired aerospace engineer now working as a high school softball coach and umpire, enjoying his spare time with a round of golf or by showing-off his classic 1973 Pontiac, which he personally restored.

Sheri Grimes
Vocals / Percussion

At just about any Just for Kicks performance, Sheri can be found front and center with her enthusiastic charm and her naturally-born-to-entertain showmanship. She can make a country line dance come alive with her vocal renditions of many artists and her style of country western vocals shows her passion for the genre, which is second only to the love of her family and friends.

Tony Dacuycuy
Lead Guitar / Vocals

Tony brings another 40 years of experience on a variety of instruments, including bass, classical guitar, banjo and keyboard. His versatile guitar styles range from classical, jazz, old standards and the blues to country and rock, even soul-funk. He is a successful business owner and loves to teach others who are looking to expand on their own musical talents.
